Barnes best traditional pub
We pride ourselves on being one of the best cosy-wonky, traditional pubs in Barnes and having been around since 1831, (we’ve got some stories to tell) we know a thing or two about being the best pub in Barnes (according to our regular Chris!).
Serving a fantastic selection of cask-conditioned real ales, craft beers, wines, gins, and more (think mulled and poured, shaken and stirred), we sit proudly on Barnes High Street, just two minutes from Barnes Bridge Station, making us your go-to local pub. Join us by our toasty-warm crackling fire for a delicious meal this autumn (trust us, our dream-about-them-after dishes are one for the Barnes books).
Jo and her team look forward to welcoming you.
Our Menus
Our mega-talented chef crew have been busy whipping up a heartwarming menu brimming with fresh, seasonal British produce – dishes that are flavour-packed and as cosy as a well-worn jumper. From timeless British classics to robust, belly-filling specials, we’re all about those indulgent, made-with-love meals that make you want to linger a little longer and we can’t wait for you to dig in.
Watch the Six Nations in Barnes
This January, the Six Nations brings thrill-filled, heart-thumping action back to our screens, ready to outdo last year’s excitement! Supporting your team is adrenaline-boosting, thirst-making business (we get it), so our bar is stocked with ice-cold, expertly-poured craft lagers, authentic, timeless real ales, and a variety of cocktail-perfect, post-match spirits. Better yet, we’re open until 11pm for your team-spirit, celebration-fuelled evenings!
Our January Set Menu
Our January Set Menu is a winter-warming, flavour-loaded celebration of the season, showcasing some of the UK’s finest frosty-weather produce. Expect melt-in-your-mouth West Country beef, golden-roasted Bedlam Farm heritage squash and vibrant Lincolnshire Brussel tops (we’re already drooling). Weekdays until 31st Jan, it’s 2 courses for £18 or 3 for £22 (we are firm believers that pudding is basically mandatory).
Barnes best Sunday roast
Sundays for us feel like a warm, cosy hug. Our roasts are a Sunday tradition – picture heaping plates loaded with tender, melt-in-your-mouth succulent meats, larger-than-life double egg Yorkshire puddings, and an abundance of rich, proper pub gravy. To top it all off, we’ve got a crumble that knocks-your-socks-off, paired with velvety goodness custard. And of course, a Sunday at ours wouldn’t be complete without those why-don’t-we-do-this-more-often tipples by the fire.
